Imperial Signal Service
The Imperial Signal Service (ISS) is a Civilian Branch of the GISC, it's Purpose is to Monitor and regulate Frequencies for Communication, Distribution of Service and investigate breaches of the Regulations.
As they maintain and increase the Network of the GISC, they constantly bud up against new and novel issues with previously unconnected Solar Systems and as Space is really big, there is constantly something or someone trying to disrupt or somehow interfere with the service. If that all was not enough excitement, the ISS regularly gets pulled into investgations by Police, Courts and even the Military in case they need something specific that their Intelligence cannot pull themselves. It manages the digital and communicative lifeblood of the empire—frequency regulation, signal integrity, data distribution, and surveillance. What appears to be a dry regulatory body is, in truth, an elite organization sitting atop Providence, the most powerful surveillance system in the galaxy. ISS personnel mediate the entire Extranet, RegNet, and StarNet, and when needed, intervene in espionage, disruption, and infiltration across all communication networks. Core Responsibilities: Maintain and regulate all civil and military communication frequencies. Investigate breaches, disruptions, and unlawful signal manipulation. Provide forensic support and data authentication for courts, the military, and intelligence services. Maintain the Galactic Information Backbone, ensuring billions remain connected. Special Division – ISS-SIGINT: The Signals Intelligence Command (SIGINT) is the militarized extension of the ISS. Unlike other military intelligence branches (CIN, IFA, CTF, CNMF), ISS-SIGINT has direct access to Providence and the Gateway network's underlying architecture. They specialize in: Battlefield signal tracing Deep-signal interception Sensor ghost detection Real-time military data recovery Subdivisions: IM (Intrusion Monitoring) SD (Signal Decoding) NF (Network Forensics) SIGWARD – Defensive counter-network division SIGINT – Field operations and live interception unit
