I. Legion
During the Great Restructure of 2625-2626 the Idea to turn the Galactic Defense Forces into a new Combined Fighting Force.
The First of these is the First Legion of Foreign Legionnaires.
The First Legion has a Infamous Reputation to be the Most Disciplined and last willing to accept surrenders. Besides that, internally the Legion has the Reputation as a Meat grinder. Led by Primus Legionis Lucius "Gallantus" Aetos, a Man who is Synonymous with Militaristic Stoicism, made in the Fires of War and believes that no man under his command should ever Surrender. Because of this he puts a great deal of Importance into Drill, Chain of Command and Protocol.
His Personal Believes reflect back on his Legion. Aetos Instructed is a common Phrase used by other Legionnaires and Branches to Describe those who seemingly put too much care into the Protocol of things.
All that being said though, the First is considered the Most Hardened and Resilient Ground Forces held back only by the Fact that they keep losing a higher amount of Soldiers then any other Legion.
The Common Legionnaire of the First is a "Prim and Proper" Soldier with immaculate Uniform and Grooming, They would rather risk their Squad then let an Objective fall into the enemy hand. They also Obey orders. These orders might be Suicidal, which they might note but they will do so regardless. This Attitude towards their own life seems to seep into how they view their enemy as well. Common Third Party accounts are of Mass Executions to those who surrender and using them as Shields, Traps and other such things. Another Common accusation is that of not distinguishing between Civilian and Military, documented cases of this behavior are bombing of Storage facilities, Large Commercial Structures and rarer cases Residential Buildings. Aetos has denied any wrong doing and that all of the Actions found are out of context or had good Military Reasoning behind them.
