Classis America

The Second Classis
"Excellentia in Tactica"

America had the Daunting task to Replicate the Success of the First of their Kind and Proof the concept to be a viable Formation for the Future of Space Combat.
Looking at what Europa did, Fast coordinated and Debilitating Strikes, they identified that Europa tended to have a fairly rigid Structure with Chain of Command getting into the way every now and then, Squandering Chances. Thus they "Squared" Naval Formations. Before America, Naval Actions were orchestrated in one large Operation, Gears interlocking into one another, one grand plan that relied on all doing their part correctly and at the correct timing. That works great if you are launching Rockets into Space, but when it came to Combat, this type of Command quickly became a burden, slowing down Potential.
America's Squares were like Squadrons, which is what they are called in every other Classis now, and are Small Groups of around 10-15 Vessels with a Command vessel able to Independently Act Outside the grand Battleplan and Seize Opportunities as they arise. Later Refined as fleets grew, they still pride themselves on being the Tactically most Innovative and fluid Classis.
