Law of Peculiar Artifacts
In places governed by the Huntsman's Court, the ownership of magical items or 'peculiar artifacts' must be licensed and registered to the owner. It is the Fifth Law created by the Huntsman's Court.
Title: The ownership of magical devices or artifacts are unpredictable and thus must be appropriately managed through careful licensing and monitoring. A magical artifact is defined as follows: Any object, person, or thing that is capable of creating an effect that cannot be mimicked through alchemical or scientific means.
Article 1: Receiving, procuring, or accidentally creating an artifact must immediately be registered by the Huntsman's court under the name of the legal owner.
Article 2: The distribution, be it gifting or selling, of an artifact is illegal without the watch of a licensed Judge of the Huntsman's Court. The artifact is to be licensed to its new owner.
Article 3: Usage of an unlicensed magical artifact will lead to a punishment proportional to the damages that the unlicensed magical artifact created, dictated by a Judge of the Huntsman's Court.
Article 4: If possible, artifacts are to be adequately explained before their function is tested by a Judge of the Huntsman's Court. Refusal to explain their function will lead to the forfeit of ownership in the device.
Article 5: Regarding persons that are capable of magic or performing peculiar phenomena; these people are to be registered to themselves.
