A
Dry Bomb is a special chemical agent created by
Alchemists, designed to rapidly draw moisture away from a single area. It typically uses a special plant called
Saltbloom as a precursor.
Function
Dry bombs are flexible but are typically used to simply remove water or moisture from an area by rapidly dessicating it from the bomb's explosion. Any water within the area is swiftly annihilated and consumed, be it water or blood. It's often mixed with cleaning agents or soaps to rapidly dry-clean a small area.
Use in Warfare
Dry Bombs are an infamous chemical weapon; as their ability to rapidly dessicate an area can cause skin to immediately dry up, shrivel, and crack on contact. This effect doesn't often kill the victim hit by its blast radius, and instead withers their skin away with devastating chemical burns. The pain caused by this typically renders them incapable of fighting.
The
Huntsman's Court outlaws the usage of dry bombs for purposes other than cleaning; filing it as a cruel and unusual weapon. As a result,
most dry bombs are crafted with less potency to ensure that anyone accidentally caught in the blast radius will suffer itchy skin at worst.
These 'lesser bombs', called
Flea Bombs, are still forbidden from being used on people as punishment, but are much more manageable compared to the agony caused by a fully potent dry bomb.
