The Ulthrazeen have taken personal responsibility for keeping the waters around the Jade shores free of intruders, namely humans from abroad. They come bringing treachery and despair from their corners of the world, the Jade Shores needs none of that volatility, not on their watch. Otherwise, the sea witches exist as scholars and astronomers, making sense of the sky's language.
