The Nation of Aramist

The northern nation of Aramist worships Aram, God of peacemaking and diplomacy. By far the most outgoing of the Ozak Peoples, Aramistians strive for trade and good relations with all nations, and are received in the courts of nations such as Stanster, Otem, and Ardenia with great respect. They are shrewd of tongue and have been employed to stem the tide of several conflicts between other nations. Aramist is home to the Verur’s foremost Bardic college. While Aramistians strive for peace, they, like the members of the other Ozak nations, are known to be incredibly ferocious when in battle. Do not mistake their peacefulness with weakness.

Demography and Population

Like Montabao to the south, Aramist is home to humans as well as dwarves. Unlike Montabao, Aramist is also home to several different High Elven families, many of whom claim kinship with other elves in Learia. The dwarves of Aramist have, characteristically, been wary of their high-elven countrymen. The two groups have, however, coexisted mostly without incident. Additionally, several prominent gnomish families also make their home in Aramist.

Legislative Body
Partly due to its relatively small size, Aramist has perhaps the most functional democracy on the planet. Every single citizen of the peaceful nation has one vote in national elections held once every 10 years, and they consistently use this right. These national elections are used to elect an executive known as Aram’s Agent. They are said to be able to, at times of great need, communicate with Aram using an ancient and secret ritual. These elections are also held to pick the advisors that surround Aram’s Agent. These people make up Aramist’s government and, as a group, hold supreme power. They are generally wise and prescient rulers, picked by the most educated people on the CONTINENT. Aram’s current agent is a high elf named Carric Amastacia, a brooding and private man but an efficient beurocrat if ever there was one. Other Ozak nations have nicknamed Amastacia “the pencil-pusher,” but he enjoys wide support from even the most militaristic members of Aramist’s populace.
