The Oasis of Mending

Written by UmbralGoat

The Oasis of Mending is one of the key sights to see in Orinth, Kailys. It's well-known for its magic-embued waters and subsequent healing properties.

The Oasis itself is a large body of water, at its widest is about 40 meters, and has several smaller springs that can be rented for thirty minutes at a time. The Oasis also connects to an underground aquifer that spans an enormous area, allowing for trees and other flora to grow within the arid climate.

The Oasis sits at the bottom of a valley, allowing it to be seen from above despite the fences and entry building. This has made certain spots on the hills and mountains significant tourist destinations for those traveling the pathways.

Usage

The waters of the Oasis are particularly noted for the rejuvination of the physical effects caused by Soulstrain.

Only a half hour soaking in its water is necessary for the effects to take place, and often, workers offer massages to facilitate relaxation in the springs. Other workers keep the waters hot with fire magic, as the steam is said to quicken the effects as well.

Architecture

A small building is set up within the forest surrounding the Oasis for visitors to come and make appointments. It is built to mimic the style of the typical Kailysian home, though slightly larger with two floors for workers areas.

The entirety of the main body of water is surrounded by wooden fencing, to prevent any from sneaking in. The reasoning for fencing off the Oasis was said to keep maintanence of the waters as reasonable as possible, which is only possible with regulated entry.
