The Monument of Peace
At the tri-border cliffs where the wind sings three different hymns, the Griffin leader, the Dragon leader, and the Elven leader gathered after the final thunder of the Ashfall Conflict—a war so devastating that no victor could claim triumph. It left entire cities carved hollow with grief and skies too heavy for flight.
There, high atop the ancient rocks of Peace Summit, the three nations committed to a vow: never again would their weapons drown the world in sorrow. In this spirit, they began crafting the Monument of Peace—a towering structure built not of politics, but of shared symbolism.
The Velmiri, dragon builders, shaped a soaring arch from Zephyrite, their rare wind-infused stone. The Elarion, elven builders, contributed Lumithril, a semi-precious metal that glows with moonlight and restraint. From Draventh, dragon builders, came Cragwood, a humble, durable material harvested from dragon-blessed groves—not majestic, but faithful. Together, these materials formed the base, body, and beacon of the monument: rich, modest, and rare, aligned without dominance.
The unveiling was to mark a new era. But before the dawn ceremony, a faction known as the Ember Sect, war profiteers thriving in chaos, shattered the nearly complete monument in a firestorm, a bomb-like plant. Their goal was simple: sow division, reignite warfare, cause the second Ashfall Conflict.
The Velmiri, in quiet defiance, constructed a false monument nearby: the Pillar of Atonement, visually identical but hollow and enchanted. While skirmishes flared, all three kingdoms continued the true monument's restoration in secrecy.
Each time the Ember Sect strikes, the builders carve a new virtue into its base. So far, the Monument of Peace bears: Unity, Atonement, Mercy, Love, Compassion, Tranquility, Equity, Wisdom, Restraint, and Endurance.
Rumors say that if you walk the summit cliffs by moonlight, you can still hear hammers tapping, echoes of wing, breath, and hand working together. And sometimes… the sound of clashing steel, claws, and wings in the shadows as the builders and warriors fight to finish the monument.
