Star Readers

Star Reader: Star Reading is one of the most sacred and demanding roles within the spiritual life of a tribe guided by the divine force known as Veritas. It is not a profession one chooses—it is a calling, bestowed only upon those who have been specifically selected by Veritas Himself. The messages He sends are hidden in the constellations and celestial movements, woven between the stars like secret threads of divine thought. These messages are rarely universal. Each Star Reader sees what they are meant to see. For one, a constellation might spell war; for another, the same alignment foretells a birth. The reading is shaped by the soul, purpose, and timing of the reader.
When a chosen individual deciphers their first celestial message, they are forever marked as the Reader of their tribe. This title is not ceremonial—it is sacred. The Reader becomes the bridge between the tribe and Veritas, interpreting signs that guide everything from harvest schedules to sacred rituals. Their words are held in reverence; their guidance trusted without hesitation. With age, illness, or spiritual depletion, the Reader transitions into the role of Old Reader—a respected elder who shifts from interpreter to mentor. Veritas, in turn, selects a new Star Reader, often a child or youth marked by visions or unusual sensitivities to the night sky. The Old Reader then begins the process of teaching this successor—explaining meanings, offering wisdom, and recounting past readings. If the new Reader already understands the signs without guidance, the Old Reader may retire early, considered truly blessed. Their final years are spent peacefully, occasionally offering counsel to tribal leaders, but no longer burdened with the weight of divine interpretation. The cycle is eternally guided by stars, chosen by Veritas, and sustained by faith. Star Reading is not a job. It is a legacy.
