Mist wood forest
Geography
The forest is located on the south eastern most coast of Northern Aetrus. To the north is the kingdom of Arlington and to the south lay the Mithilfjell Mountains. The trees of the Mist wood forest are the largest in the world. The elves that live here use them as homes, building villages that span across their massive branches.
Fauna & Flora
Amberwood trees dominate the canopy of this forest, with branches thick enough to support an entire elven village. Soil often collects on these branches, allowing other plants and even small trees to grow on them. Huckleberry and black berry bushes grow on the forest floor, as well as rhododendron, azaleas and ferns.
Birds: eagles, owls, ducks, hawk, heron, blue jays
Mammals: black bears, coyote, cougar, bobcat, beaver, otter, deer, elk, bats, red squirrels, flying squirrels, sea lions and seals on the shore and dolphin and grey whales can be seen off the coast.
amphibians: frogs, salamanders, newts.
Natural Resources
The elves hunt for wild game within the forest to supply themselves with food and pelts. They even allow outsiders into the forest so long as they adhere to strict hunting regulations
Dispite the large number of trees in the forest, wood is not a common resource. The elves believe the trees are a vital part of the forest's ecosystem and forbid anyone from harvesting them.
