The Dry Docks of Lariat

In the middle of a parched desert, stands a once grand city. Tall towers, expansive parks, and a grand pier, a kilometer in length and dozens of meters wide. This structure once stood as one of the greatest ports of call during times gone past.   When the great Quake happened hundreds of years ago, the lakebed cracked open and the waters drained away. eventually leaving the city of Lariat landlocked with its massive pier, unable to service ships any longer.   Many of the city's undesirables have moved away from the main city, instead living among the great Pilons that hold up the Dry Dock of Lariat. The land below that was once lakebed now provides much of the city's commerce as the drained water has revealed a great deposit of clay that local Artisans have taken to crafting into some of the most intricate and beautiful pottery that has ever been made by mortal hands.
