The day that nearly ended it all

During a routine mission for the Society, we headed out to investigate some seaside caves. The trip originally started out normal. However, once we arrived at the ocean is when things to go sideways. The water was the first obstacle with the help of a little magic I recently picked up we made it through. Afterwards, we encountered a tribe of fish folk working on a religious ritual. We didn't know then but would soon find out that the ritual was to summon some profane god. Near the beginning of the cave, I took a vicious head wound causing me to have a concussion. Head wounds are dangerous business for one that practices the Arcane like me. With my mind addled it became difficult to use any kind of retaliatory magic. Following, the next few encounters we had to swim which was in retrospective a poorly thought through idea. My grimoire became wet, and this created some other issues with my magic. Now, my magic is creating arcane anomalies anytime I incant magic from my grimoire. This event has shown me that I must invest more heavily into my spellbook. I'm lucky that my spellbook survived this encounter. The big story is that the ritual the fish folk were performing was to summon some form of entity from beyond the abyss. I dare not even write the creatures true name for the time we will call it "Bob". Bob was a strange creature summoned from the deaths of the creatures summoning it created of bone and blood and bile. The creature took the form of a woman with the hands and head of a lobster; it was a strange beast indeed. The power it possessed was immense to say the least. As it moved, it caused the ceiling to crumble and collapse. Then, near the end of the battle the cieling fully collapsed upon the party nearly causing us to all to meet our makers.   25 pearls kill haul +1 net Corral cutter dagger Driftwood staff 3 charges Crushing claw staff Bivalve buckler +1 shield Conch Shell flute
