Rødsger War IV

The last of the Rødsger Wars and the only one that included all the official nations of the Rødsger continent, (Fervere, Miryegu, Loricatum, Cabascan, and Floren), the Fourth War was the ultimate in its series and one of the last large wars on Vequesia, having concluded circa 700 years ago. It lasted from the 26th of Elsium, 2998 ADK to the the 38th of Fariyam, 3001 ADK, after which it would devolve into an interstate civil war.

Casus Belli

The war had begun during a short stint of peace between the then Miryegu Empire and the then Fervere Union, now known as the Miryegu Kingdom and the Fervere Nation. A sudden explosion rocked the city of Parzhap, Miryegu, during peace negotiations between the two states in the same town, and was immediately exclaimed by the Miryegan representatives that "[t]his was an attack on the Emperor and His people by the extremist Ferv people who could not seek peace should they ever truly want it". From thence, the Ferv representatives were forced to retreat, including one of their Overroyals, a leader of the state, who had made it out safely thanks to an adventuring group who was acting as a neutral third party at the event to ensure security for all.

A Number of Bedfellows

Through diplomatic recruitment and civil, military, and diplomatic propaganda, the Miryegans spread their theory despite lack of empirical evidence and had garnered enough support to no longer fight their enemies alone. Even the religious institution of Floren, a country mostly in name and in terms of the little land they owned and the small but arcane-trained army which served more as solutions to interstate problems or diplomatic missions, joined the fray, sending healers and the occassional paladin but rarely seeing action and never seeing an attack upon their own lands in the history of their existance until the midst of this war, when an undetected Ferv vessel would make it to Floren, its members would climb the fjords and cliffs, and would eventually wreak havoc upon land. Most of the crew would die in the process but it would result in Floren pulling some troops back, as well as the relocation of Loricatum's navy to Floren, taking away some firepower from the front lines on the sea. The crew remains unknown.

The Civil War Era

It would not be until three years into the war that the same adventuring group as before would rise high enough and spread far enough to discover the truth; the Parzhap bombing was entirely fabricated. Whilst it did happen and whilst it did kill a thousand and five hundred mostly civilian Miryegan souls, it was under the orders of the Emperor. The discovery was shared by the heroes with the people and they would not wait for internal or any other kind of investigation before they marched on the heart of Onkadatsi1 and dethroned the Emperor. With death and bloodshed, the Emperor finally had no choice but to try and escape the People's Palace, whereupon he was caught sneaking out of a once-secret exit. He would be put on trial, investigated, questioned, and killed within a matter of five days and six nights. Other royals followed soon. There was no escape for Miryegan nobles, though most of the other representatives made it back home safely. Once the people took over, Miryegu once more set up extrenal communication with surrounding countries, calling off the war and explaining the situation. Despite new leadership, the country would be forced to pay sums for the damage and death they had caused, not only to Ferv folk but also to the Miryegan allies.
