The Red Scar Clan
The Red Scar Clan is a clan of orcs founded by the legendary warrior, Elric the Rotter in a time most have forgotten about. All the clan knows is that it was a bloody long time ago. Over the last several decades, the clan has been led by Norgretch the Merciless.

Tattoos
All members of the Red Scar Clan have red tattoos. These are earned after each battle, and are tattooed by Snagthorn the Mystic. These tattoos act as both a badge of honour, and a way for the orcs to identify their fellow clanmates when on the battlefield. Orcs with the most tattoos are considered to be warriors of the highest order. At the time of writing, the two orcs in the Red Scar Clan with the most tattoos are Norgretch the Merciless and Morga Skullsplitter. Over the years, many have questioned the origins of the tattoos. Some say the clan picked them because red ink looked good. Others insist that the tattoos pay homage to the clans founder, and are supposed to represent the scars Elric the Rotter got when slaying a dragon single-handedly in the Battle of Kroguts.

Settlement
Unlike some orcish clans, the Red Scar Clan move around a lot. When in a location they like, they will build semi-permanent structures and spend anything between weeks to years there. Their current camp in Foolshadow has been home for a number of years. It's estimated that Norgretch the Merciless is due to get itchy feet at any moment, starting a new conflict and moving the clan to a new location once they've won (because a good clan leader never entertains the idea that the clan might lose).Notable Battles

Culture
While extremely violent, the clan looks after each other and has a strict 'leave no orc behind' policy. They treat each other as family, even though many are not related by blood. The result of this is that the settlement is probably the safest place on Venari with next to no crime.
Outside of fighting, the orcs in the Red Scar Clan are extremely creative, and there have been many across Venari who have been surprised to find a painting or a poem created by a Red Scar Clan warrior.
Mythology & Lore
The Red Scar Clan worships a being that may or may not have existed. Either way, no-one's seen the thing for years. The Dreadmaw is a huge creature that is reported to be the size of several orcish buildings. It symbolises strength, tenacity, destruction, and violence - all concepts the Red Scar Clan holds dear.
There is a legend that Elric the Rotter once met the Dreadmaw on the battlefield. Instead of killing each other, they worked together to destroy Elric the Rotter's enemies. It makes no difference as to whether the story holds any truth or not, as the Red Scar Clan simply won't give anyone the chance to question its validity.
