Vampires

Uncontrollable, intelligent and terrifyingly powerful, Vampires are the most powerful of the Blood Bathed. Once mortals, Vampires are products of the divine blood, and the purest manifestations of its power. Vampires are the strongest of the Strigoi Sanguis, and the progenitors of the lesser Vampyr

Sanguine Madness

Vampires are exceedingly powerful beings, wielding authority over other Bloodbound; they act as nobles among the cursed and mutated. Possessing incredible individual strength, they rank among the most powerful entities in Velinis, being immortal and nearly invulnerable.

However, their immense power comes at a cost. Vampires are manifestations of the dead god’s desire to be whole again. The overwhelming amount of Divine Blood they bear gives rise to a subconscious yearning for godhood, driving them to gather ever more power, control, and—most importantly—blood.

Vampires are highly unstable beings, swinging from calmness to furious rage in an instant. Their emotional volatility is part of what makes them so dangerous. In battle, Vampires commanding armies often lose themselves to bloodlust, leading to chaotic and uncoordinated assaults. When the scent of blood fills the air, their battle plans unravel as they rush into the fray, slaughtering anything in their path. The more a Vampire can control these instincts, the more dangerous they become, as their focused rage can be even more devastating.

This instability can be triggered by the smallest news; a minor disappointment can send them into a fit of rage, while a small piece of good news may calm them almost instantly. Dealing with Vampires requires exceptional care and skill—those hoping to converse with one must navigate their moods delicately, choosing their words with exceptional caution.

Insatiable Thirst

Vampires must feed on blood, but not for sustenance. Instead, they crave divine blood, unable to differentiate between the divine and mortal varieties. This inability leads them to kill and drink indiscriminately, even from their own followers. Their insatiable thirst for divine blood is believed to be a side effect of the vast quantities of pure divine blood they possess, compelling them to carry out the remnants of the god's will. While they may or may not be aware of this compulsion, it does nothing to quell their thirst.

This unrelenting hunger fuels many of their violent outbursts. Intelligent as they may be, Vampires are animalistic beasts at their core, often losing control in their quest for blood.

Their violent tendencies lead to brutal conflicts among Vampires, each vying for dominance over sources of divine blood or even the chance to drink one another’s blood, as they possess the purest blood outside the very heart of the god.

Birth of a Monster

The exact circumstances of how a Vampire is created are unknown, what is known is that Vampires become what they are in areas rich in Divine Blood. What differenciates them from many other mutations of mortals form divine blood, such as werewolves, where merely consuming tainted water or vegetation is enough to mark you, Vampires are exceedingly rare. From the few of their species who have been killed, it was discovered that their own blood is extremely pure divine blood. This has led to theories about Vampires being artificially created or born.

These are however just theories, and do little to help the further creation of more Vampires. For Vampires continue to spawn forth, rare they may be.

"I've never seen anything like it, that... thing isn't natural. Nothing should be able to move that fucking fast.
