The Eternal Tower

Every moment spent in the city felt like a moment, Akizen felt as though her secret would be discovered. The Emperor's Looming keep eternally visible, eternally vigilant.

The Eternal Tower is simultaneously the Immortal Empire's capitol, the home of its leader, and the prison of all knowledge hoarded in the name of public safety. Commissioned shortly the founding of the empire by its immortal ruler himself, the structure took nearly one hundred years to be built. It is a true marvel of the Immoral Empire's engineering capabilities, standing over one thousand feet tall without the use of permanent magical assistance to hold it up. The materials used to accomplish such a feat are unknown, as every worker who participated in the project were kept on site for the entirety of its creation, new workers only moving onto the construction site to replace those who died during it's long construction. There are no public records of workers who survived the project and returned to society.   Only a small number of individuals are allowed inside the emperor's fortress, and of those even fewer are allowed to leave. The most well known group allowed inside are members of the Elder Senate, the ruling body in charge of most of the day to day politics and decision making for the Empire. Senators enter the tower once to be confirmed by the Emperor, and then once a year after that for a policy meeting with him. Occasionally the Senate will call for and emergency meeting with their ruler, but this is incredibly rare.   The next group allowed inside are the Ordo Cognitis, who seal their stolen knowledge and memories inside the structures massive "library."
