Legend of an individual with a solid coat stealing identities
Summary
Canvas would dye its hair and coat with different colors and markings in order to help hide its identity when stealing. The strong sent of the dyes would make it difficult to identify by smell.
One day it sets eyes on a recluse living in an estate. After observing it for some time Canvas takes note of its lack of interactions with others.
Creeping into the building while Light is at rest it murders the recluse and takes its place. Canvas keeps up the ruse for many cycles going so far as to tattoo the markings onto itself to be even more convincing.
A member from the guild and a good friend of the deceased recluse comes to visit unexpectedly. It's disturbed by the way the "friend" is acting, seeming to not even know who it is. In it's alarm it proceeds to tell other guild members insisting that its friend is someone else.
Canvas is eventually confronted by a group who agree with the friends accusation. Canvas denies this and a fight breaks out between it the friend. In desperation Canvas claims to be an Imitation in order to end the fight. The rest of the group finally interferes leading to the arrest of Canvas.
Historical Basis
In Scio a weathy high ranking guild official one day started to act strangly. It became paranoid and seemed to not recognize others. The official locked itself away inside its estate always having nessesary supplies delivered. Those who made the drop-offs claimed that it had a different scent and sometimes even appearance from when they knew it before.
Locals would eventually start to spin the rumors into wild stories. Reports from the guild state that the official was suffering from Twist.
Variations & Mutation
Some versions have Canvas immediately claim to be an imitation once confronted.
