Marak
A large man with a surprisingly soft footfall, Marak is the owner and operator of the Stippled Gander, an extraordinary inn and tea shop in Darra.
Marak seems to know everything that is going on in and around Darra, and is a wealth of esoteric information. He seems to always be polishing something; be it a tea cup, or a silver spoon, or a tabletop, Marak cares deeply for his establishment, and it shows in all of the little details.
He will brooke no trouble in his establishment, and is big enough to back that up. He was a bare knuckle fighter when he was younger, the only evidence of which is a cauliflower left ear and a scar over his right eyebrow. For a boxer, his nose is remarkably straight.
Marak is a kind man, though he is not necessarily "nice" if he does not know you. He speaks in as few words as possible, using gestures and body language to convey much of his meaning. He sponsors and hires orphans and underpriveleged children, and has a place in his heart for adopted kids. He has four adopted children of his own, and there are several people working at the Stippled Gander that were orphaned children who grew up working for Marak.
