In the Beginning

The First Shaping
In the dawn before memory, Ione—the Prime God—formed the heavens and the fertile world of Vantea. A silent architect, he demanded no temples and inspired no priesthood, yet all creation traces its origin to his unseen hand.

The Breath of the Prime
From Ione’s exhalation were born two great draconic powers.
Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, embodied mercy, justice, and guardianship. His compassion for mortal suffering was boundless, and it is said that when he wept, his tears hardened into radiant crystals later known as Ione Stones, vessels of divine light.
Opposite him rose Tiamat, the Five-Headed Dragon, avatar of dominion, greed, and ruthless authority. She believed all races existed to kneel beneath her wings, and she gathered the cruelest of dragonkind to her cause.

The Coming of Dragons
Dragons were not native to Vantea. They came from distant realms across the sea, drawn by its rich lands and untapped power. At first, mortals and dragons forged a wary coexistence, sharing the world in fragile balance. That peace shattered when Tiamat sought absolute rule, unleashing war upon humankind and her own lesser kin alike.

Tears of Light and War Unbound
Grieving the slaughter, Bahamut wept for the world. His crystalline tears fell upon Vantea, seeding the land with luminous stones said to contain fragments of his divine essence. As ever more dragons crossed the seas to join the conflict, champions rose from the Broken Lands to oppose Tiamat’s armies.

The Sundering of Vantea
The clash between Bahamut’s radiant magic and Tiamat’s tyrannical power tore at the fabric of reality itself. A cataclysmic rift split the world, remaking mountains, seas, and sky. In this upheaval, the Thunderpeaks were formed—Tiamat’s final battlefield and her tomb. Though she did not truly die, her essence was bound within the peaks, bleeding into the land and giving rise to strange crystals that suppress and oppose magic. Knowledge of these stones remains hidden from most of Vantea.

Relics of Sacrifice
Bahamut’s scattered tear-shards became sacred relics, revered as “blood tears”—solidified echoes of divine sacrifice. Bahamut’s tears landed in the Drakonspire mountains seeding crystalline growth of Ione stones.   Dragons were left broken and dispersed, and in their waning, humanity spread across Vantea. The migrations from the Broken Lands cemented mortal dominion over the world.

Echoes of the Present Age
Yet the past is not silent. Tiamat’s influence still whispers in the hearts of tyrants and warlords, and secret cults labor to awaken her bound essence beneath the Thunderpeaks. Meanwhile, Bahamut’s faithful guard the radiant crystals, believing them to be either the key to restoring balance—or the final weapon against Tiamat’s return.
