Nethecite

Nethecite is a rare mineral with a slightly blue-greenish hue. It is considered a "miracle mineral" and is extremely valuable due to its many uses.   It can found around the globe, but nowhere as commonly as in the Sprawling Bushveld. Recent discoveries have determined that the mineral is extraterrestrial in nature, and comes from meteorites. This has led to the discovery that the central Boulder in the settlement of Boulderrest, long thought to have tumbled from the peaks of the Abraska Mountains, is actually a massive meteorite full of Nethecite.   Traditionally, it has been used by mages as it can be used in place of any material component used in spellcasting, and can enhance the power of their spells. More recently, it has been utilized as a power source for various things, from permanent light sources, to strange contraptions. A powdered form of the mineral can even be sprinkled in a drink or on food for a surge of magical ability, which is a euphoric experience enjoyed by the elite in Pereonopolis.   These recent developments have led people the world over to come to Boulderrest in hopes of striking it rich on a chunk of Nethecite out in the Bushveld. The Dwarves of the Order of the Penitent Stone revere the central Boulder, and keep watch, fervently preventing anyone from mining it for its Nethecite. The Pinnacle Excavation Corporation has quickly made a fortune overseeing all mining in the area.
