Kalthes Lanthichos
The Thrakian hoplite Kalthes Lanthichos remains an inspiration to all young soldiers throughout Vandrius. His exploits during the war with Palavos are still studied by war historians to this day, and his time as a gladiator in the Kalaphadian Games was legendary.
He was known to have died in the pits, but some time later, a skeletal warrior in black armor appeared, claiming Kalthes's name. This figure fought at Jahar's Descent alongside the Heroes of Ithicus, defeating the cult of Those Who Remain.
Rumors of a skeletal warrior wreathed in shadow and flame would crop up from time to time across Korris throughout history, and the tales about these sightings spawned many local legends.
The poem In Defiance (The Champion of Iridus), written by the troubadour Melíssa, depicts Kalthes, as an undead champion of the goddess of death.
