Time Enough Apart
2019. The weight of the years of time lost with her brothers was graven in Niamh’s heart, as heavily etched as ancient words carved deep into stone. She had made a promise to Cinaed to finally reach out when he had passed his final hunt and now she was here, in New York City, standing in front of her older brother’s bloodbrother.
“I am not asking, Malloy,” she said flatly, giving him a look that she knew was stark on her still so youthful features. It had scarred more than a few men over the years, including hardened soldiers that she had worked with during several wars as a spy. “I am demanding. It’s been more than three hundred years. The Ó Conaill siblings have been separated for long enough.”
Malloy looked over at his child and lover, Xiang, and then back at her before rubbing a hand over his face. “Fine,” he finally growled. “I know where Darragh is. Xiang keeps track of Daman.”
“We have a meeting now,” the woman replied with a tilt of her head. “I do not stalk him as you do your brother.”
