Hunt for Jacques Laroque

After being swindled by Jacques Laroque, the party gives chase.

The party wakes up in the tavern after their night of drinking. They go to the beach to drink their prize. As soon as the liquid touches Badaar’s lips he knows the whisky is a fake.   After interrogating the locals (and Badaar breaking one’s arm), Badaar, Graak, and Loodachris give chase to Laroque on 3 horses that Graak purchases.   They catch the swindler making camp in the woods, kill one of his guards, wound him, and take all his valuables, sparing his life.   They ride back to Sandpoint and then whole party spend the night there.   During this time, Eiyo travels around town trying to find leads on the vampire, Simi. She speaks to the girl’s father, Maddoc, and learns that she worked in the local brothel.   Eiyo visits the brothel and speaks to Lady Kaye, the proprietor. She also speaks to Marcelin Ernst, a young girl who works there and one of Simi’s closest friends. Marcelin (Marcy to her friends) tells Eiyo that a wealthy noble woman arrived in town a month ago and after trying several girls book out Simi for a month, paying upfront.   Marcelin tells Eiyo that during her contact with this woman, Lady Annalise, she mentioned somewhere called Mercy in the Everglades as a potential spot to whisk “special” girls away to.
