Blood Money

The party discover Ven Vinder's missing shipment and encounter a Bounty Hunter.

During the first day of travel the party, riding at the head of the column, came across Vindeer’s missing shipment. The overturned cart was being picked over by a group of bandits, but there were no bodies or blood present. The party attempted to negotiate with the bandits, but when it was clear they had no intentions of relinquishing the goods, combat began. With the bandits dead, the players searched the area. Nothing in the shipment seemed to be missing, and there were no bodies to suggest the guards and driver had been killed. The party did find an unusual gold coin on the ground that bore runes none of them could understand. When they later asked Vinder if he could read them he said it looked like some kind of Elvish, but none that he could read. While the party was searching through the bandit’s goods, another figure arrived on a barded warhorse. The newcomer dismounted, walked towards the group with confidence, drawing his sword as he went, and pointed at Badaar. He told the party that he had come to collect the bounty on Badaar’s head and that if the others handed him over they would be spared. Unwilling to hand the Dragonknight over, combat began. Loodachris wounded the bounty hunter with a spell before Badaar summoned all his strength and in a single swing cut the bounty hunter from head to tail before he could even swing his sword.
