The Party arrive in Langdale during the full moon to find a Werewolf is active in the slums.
The Party arrives at Langdale early on Moonday morning. The northern gate is teeming with refugees, commoners, and merchants attempting to enter the city. As they near the gate, they overhear the guards talking with the group of men in front of them, mentioning werewolves. The men were turned away and whispered something about returning at night. Vinder spoke to the gate guard who then let the party into the city. They passed through the Trade Disctrict – little more than a marketplace filled with farmers and tradespeople selling their wares – and crossed the Iuvenis into the city proper. As they entered the slums, a young half-elf named Cae Alma approached them, mistaking them for a group of Venators – monster hunters with a reputation as merciless brutes – and asked the group to help with the werewolf that had been plaguing the slums. The party learned there had been a series of killing at the last full moon, and with the full moon beginning again tonight, people were scared. The party agreed to help, but first travelled the slums visiting shops and the tavern. At Glittering Phoenix the party met Bodwyn Reddy, a dwarf jeweller whom they tricked into leaving his counter unattended and stole a box of rings from him, after convincing him his one magic ring was worthless. They also visited Druid’s Remedies, a potion shop owned by Luce Hume. She offered them a deal on healing potions but the group refused. The party also visited Secret Parchment, a scroll shop, and by far the nicest place they had seen in the slums so far, where they met Charlotte Elonil, a half elf woman who had become mute as the result of a failed experiment. Finally, the entire party arrived at the tavern, the King’s House, a shack of a building with a single large room filled with filthy patrons. Except for Gar Jordan, captain of the City Guard. After Badaar bought a round for the entire bar. Gar told the group that they seemed like good people and if they were looking for work they should visit Captain Price, an ex-royal army captain who had been recruiting adventurers to help with local problems. With their shopping done the party set up on rooftops around the slums to wait for the supposed werewolf. Around midnight they heard a terrible scream. Following it to its source they found a large black werewolf feasting on a man who was still alive. As he cried out for help the werewolf crushed his skull. Graak charged the beast and combat began. The werewolf was resilient, ignoring most of the damage the party dealt to it, and injuring Graak in the fight, but eventually they dealt enough damage to force the wolf to change into its human form, a teenage boy name Leo Wilbur. Before the party could decide what to do with the unconscious, helpless child, the Venators arrived and demanded the party step aside so they could finish the boy. As the party was attempting to negotiate, the sergeant of the Venators threatened Graak, who charged into combat. The group quickly dispatched the Venators, with Badaar cutting one in two as he fled, but during the fight the young boy had disappeared. They followed his blood trail through the streets until they found him, asleep in his bed and covered in blood.
