The Old Capital

From the very start, we worried everything we knew was wrong. Only forest stood where the old capital was supposed to be. Was it fully destroyed? Did our records deceive us? But then the scouts told us they felt the treelines felt wrong, and we suspected, hoped, that the answer was more simple. Not a destroyed city, but an overgrown one.   We now have found roads. It is time to explore, make our way towards where it once stood, pray we find objects and knowledge we can make good use of. But we will do so slowly. There can be countless dangers in these forests, so we want to find as many of them as we can. That way, there will be less chance that we will get attacked from behind, or future caravans disrupted. The road will be winded, but that is an acceptable price to pay for a sense of security.

The Valley's old civilization had its capital cradled between two rivers on a central rock. Poetic descriptions talk of it overseeing the valley from its geographical throne. Yet at this point, all we see is a massive forest on hilly terrain. How much of the stories are true, we hope to find out soon. Multiple scholars will visit it soon, with scouts already found for the Capital Investigation.

Important Buildings

Royal Palace
Tales speak of how the Royal Palace in the valley was crowned by hanging gardens, reaching all the way from its top to the very ground. A massive Observatory gave the royals the ability to oversee the entire valley, or so the stories say. If this were true, it is doubtful the Observatory has survived the fall of the valley, as surely it would have been noticeable otherwise.
Royal Crypt
Constructed by masters in their trade, this place was said to house all the former royal palace members. Supposedly, the dead were honoured in beautiful ceremonies and laid to rest with many of their personal possessions. The scholars hope to find art and word within that describe the dead, so that we can learn all we can from such historical records.
