Night 1 Scene, Dawn 2 Scene. Marshall & Bertie.

Night 1 Scene. The Hotel Lobby

You enter the Lobby from your previous escapades at the Barnell Cellar Tavern, comforted by the knowledge that you had plenty of leads to follow in the morning and that you had a motives and suspects. The lobby, a rectangular room with a bar and restaurant to it's left in the long section, is almost deserted at this time of night. It's only occupants are You, 2 Members of Staff and a very loud Duo.
As you walk over to them, Marshall and who you presume to be Bertie can be heard singing some kind of drinking song. You only catch the end of it, it goes something like "Lie-dee-die-dee-dum, Lie-dee-die-dee-dee! Kill a Fucking Elvishman and Toss him in the Sea! Hey!" Followed by a mock flute solo from Bertie, who's using a Hand Cannon as the flute.
The two of them reek of Alchohol. They have clearly been drinking all evening & are currently standing on a bare tables, having thrown it's cloth aside along with it's chairs. You also see a concerned Bar Tender behind the bar, abscently wiping it down.
When Marshall sees you all he hops into the air, unbalancing the table and nearly cause the pair to fall off before he lands back on. He and Bertie slide off the table, Marshall hollers out at you.
He begins introducing you all to to Bertie. Bertie is a 6'6 Patches, he has a primarily light brown skin which is off-set by various red and blue patches all over his visible skin. He wears Millitary attire, similar to what Marshall has worn for most your Journey, although it is somewhat fancier and more modern, indicating a higher uniform rank than the ones Marshall pilfered and a more recent version of them. (Marshall is currently wearing his Captain's Uniform)
He introduces You Jacobi by going "This is Jacobi, He's Human, but he's one good ones, I promise. He's saved my life a few times now. I wouldn't trust him with my Daughters but I would trust him with my money."
He points to Ruby and goes "This is my Fake Elf Wife. Her name is... Ruby. Good with a bow, has shotting me in the foot though. I wouldn't trust her with blunt knife unless I also had one." The foot comment gets a laugh out of Bertie.
Next he gesticulates in the general of Eugene "This Short Tiefling Priest Doctor Man is Eugene. He is good at his Job. I'd trust him with my Liquor but not my Services. i get the feeling he wouldn't get it, you know?"
"And this. This is Elys. She's like a Little Sister to me, don't hurt her, or I'll hurt you. She's strong and smart and cute and somewhat trust worthy." To this Bertie asks "Like me?", Marshall replies "Heh, Fook No." and sips his pint.
Marshall raises his Pint with a shaky hand and goes "To Howitzer, I'll miss you ya Bastard. So long and thanks for the all the Bullets." to which Bertie raises his Glass and cheers "Aye Aye! We were the Stars." and they both drink.

When you finally manage to wrangle them upstairs to the hotel room, they fall onto the floor and almost immediatly start to snore.

Dawn 2 Scene. The Hotel Room's Balcony.

Elys you wake at dawn. You see Marshall and Bertie are gone from thier place on the floor. The doors to the rooms balcony stand open, a smooth breeze rolls in, gently moving the curtins. Marshall stands on the balcony, back to you.
As you move closer to him, you notice that a cigarette rests between his wrapping, where would be. ("I didn't know you smoked?" "I don't. Anymore."
Marshall hold something in his left hand. He drops it onto the balcony's low coffee table.
"They turned him into fucking number." He turns to face you now.
"Just anouther gods damned number. If there is one thing you to a Millitary Man, especially a deceased one, it's turn him into a bloody number." Sure enough, the papers headline scream "2 MORE BLOOD LILLY VICTIMS FOUND. THE 5TH AND 6TH THIS LAST WEEK."
"Great Men and Terrible Men can be thing. And Howitzer was both. He had save me and my Men's lives more than any doctor could. I once saw him lift a Tinny to free a Mans crushed legs so that could out from underneath. I once saw him punch the jaw off a compatant. He could walk through flames like a Devil but with the intent of an Angel. We would drink and laugh and drink and he more than any of us. He shoved his arm into a malfuctioning engine so that Galli would blow up. I once saw him charge a man with naught but a shovel and a grenade before shoving it down the mans pants. He Cheated at cards. He once slept Dryad. He had trouble distringuishing left and right. He loved Animals. He thought Lunkhead Liqour was Good.
When I was dragged from my post, I thought only of myself. Of the misery and mudane banality that would experience. I thought nary glace of my Men. Of Howitzer. I did not remember that my presence was the only thing stopping the Powers That Be from "Honourably" Discharging him with a bag of pocketchange, a slip of paper, a missing arm and pat on the back.
While I, was going from Ball to Ball, Gala to Gala, Party to Party, MOPING! He was forced to work an underpaid position in the Guts Forges. A position that paid so little, because of his missing arm, that the only place he could affor rent, was somewhere that no-one was actually meant to live in. They would have said it was because he productive as other workers. That would've just been an excuse to pay him less.
I went off on a journey across the continent, had my parents provide me a generous, coushy starting fund for a business. I fell in Love and Married. I made money and set off to cure my wanderlust and get new merchendise. And I, Left him. To Rot. I didn't even send him any letters. I didn't even try to help him. I couldn't have saved him, but I could have helped him."
Marshall pulls out a second Cigarette and lights it with his old one. He turns away from you and stares outwards to the city's horizon. He doesn't seem to want to talk anymore.
How many of you were worken up mid-rant by Marshall?
