Gashud of Taar (Ga - shud)
Abari Gashud (a.k.a. Seasword)
The first 'Abari' (king) to unite all of the archipelago now known as The Abariate of Taar under his banner. He was previously Abari of only one island, albeit a larger one, itself called Taar. Ascending that - somewhat minor - throne at the age of just 15, he immediately began conquest of the neighbouring Abarii. Through superior naval strength he even fought off an attempt in 1053 by The Kingdom of Nerevarn to prevent the unification of the archepelago, in a naval battle which resulted in the death of the then-King of Nerevarn. Upon successfully conquering the entire group of islands he named his kingdom (or 'Abariate' in their language) after the island of his birth and declared himself the supreme ruler of the new nation, which persists to this day under the rule of his descendants.
