Mael-Dantor

In this young continent, echoes of the past remain the most recent of ancient ruin. In all civilized places, the village over might be a ruined ghost town or a fallen monument from a bygone era. Echoes of old and ancients civilizations have been resurfaced and unearthed across the continent. Political prowess may clash in the shadows of conformity, Monsters may lurk within the wilds surrounding the citys, Ancient treasures may lie in wait of the most lucky adventurers. Do what you must, Valandra itself will decide weather its enough.
The mythical land of Mael-dantor. If one should wish for order amongst the chaos, or company amongst the stormy nights, then Mael-Dantor might be the perfect place. Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and Halfling Folk are the most prominent on this land mass. But, finding lesser known races such as Dragonborn and Bird-Folk are not unheard of. On the Map Of The Five Siblings, Mael-Dantor is located Mid-East, resting just on the equator; Nearly connected to Akkarra below and not too distant from Angoric above.   In geography, Mael-Dantor has lots of grasslands and valleys to hold life, while forests large and small are raised by hills and split by tall mountain ranges. Usually described as a 'chilly' continent, the land is blotted with cold fronts and vengful storms, while the farther south one goes, the more the word 'tropical' comes into play. Considerably, Mael-Dantor is actually a smaller continent then its siblings. What it lacks in land mass it makes up for in surounding Isles and Archipleigoes. Even though its on the small side, there is still much to explore.   The Duchies of Naeffara loom over the southern peninsula where jungles and mangroves weave the mountains and valleys as they rest on the Sea's Edge. The Theocracy of The Silver One grasps what they can of the Gallaine region. Hoping to inspire or convert everyone to the likeliness of their god. The most eastern edge of Mael-Dantor is where the Kingdom of Forloria was born and spread like wildfire over the asorted valleys and embankments. To the west, The Verullian empire rules with an watchfull eye ovwer its citizens in the Torres of Dantor. Above, one could only hope to survive the lawless, frozen lands of Udauln, where dwarven cities nestled in mountain ranges hide in solitude careless of the outside world, where terrain challenges the word 'land' and Mystic Rivers weave the fabric of one's dreams. Over and higher north east, the Horse Clans and native tribes fight for the land what they can around them, while Nemor's peak, arguably the tallest mountain on the continent watches all over the entire land called Mael-Dantor.   Surrounded by independant islands and smaller groups of civilization, Mael-Dantor remains mapped but not explored. Even here, where civilization makes its mark on the world, strange history mingles with modern magic to perform the most granduer of mysteries and echos beckoning for adventures to uncover.

Geography

Easily split into five regions, Mael-Dantor is full of geographical wonders that hold beauty and danger. The first region, Forl's Peninsula, is located at the southern edge of the continent. Being disconnected by a channel, the peninsula holds tropical jungles of emerald green that give way to the golden sand and saphirre sea. The looming mountains and peaks scratch the sky while the inland land expanses hold hot valleys and lush deserts. Above that is the second region, The Western Arm, or, Gallaine's Arm. Gallaine's arm grows dark forests of deep green, and canyons out of the protective mountains. Swamps and fens turn the land to mush while the Pristaloche shines under the shadowless bowl it rests in. To the east, lie the Torres of Dantor. Large sections of land in a mid-section of the continent. The Torres are home to the mountains, canyons and prairies of rolling hills that give Mael-Dantor it's charm. The Torres also hold powerful wonders such as the Thicket Expanse, and the volcano of Marruduarr. Further east is The Eastern arm, or Forl's arm; where valleys of field provide the perfect place for pastures and farms. Mountains and forests rule the wilds there as well. Up north where the Goldleaf Escarpment splits the divided plateaus, are where snowy wastes and mountainous ranges loom east over fields and rivers of estuaries and forests. Surrounding Islands make up a big range of Mael-Dantors small paradises and tiny curiosities.

Ecosystem

The continent of Mael-Dantor is a long landmass, stretching from chilly north to tropical south. To the far north, wild game weaves through snow-laden pines as escapes the grasp of its dooming hunter, where mountains rise in the sunrise like crystal beacons. a little further south, Dwarven miners carve away the stone to reveal fisfulls of glowing gems and glistening gold, or billowing pools of magma and fire. Snow piles on the mountains and melts into a slushy spring flood once a warm breeze brushes the peaks; Causing villages, forests, swamps and animal tribes to move out or drown. Thousands of fish and sea creatures dot the lakes, rivers and strange bodys of water strung across the land here. South, in the middle of the continent, is where the weather throws occaisional winter flurrys and spring storms. Valleys and praries rest underneath the mountains; where they listen to natures song in the form of the birds, or distant thunderstorms.
