Veilthread Cloaks

“You are not hidden by the Veilthread—you are bound by it.”
—Teren, Echoheart of Pluvia

The Veilthread Cloak is a traditional Echoweaver garment worn during significant emotional or spiritual rites, most notably during the Echo Offering and mourning ceremonies. Made of gossamer-fine fabric spun with enchanted threads, the cloak shimmers faintly in light and ripples like water when moved.

Each cloak is hand-woven using mistweft, a silver-blue fiber harvested from a rain-fed plant native to the outskirts of Pluvia. Each cloak is handwoven by its wearer near the end of their training. The threads are often interwoven with memory-binding charms or glyphs encoded with the wearer’s emotional resonance, making each cloak unique to the individual.

No two are the same, and no cloak is ever worn casually. No other garment in Mistkin society carry as much visible, living meaning.

Cloaks are worn openly in public and recognized across Pluvia as a symbol of spiritual stewardship. Their movement is said to mimic rain or mist, and some Mistkin believe the Veil itself sees more clearly through those who wear them.
