The Clearborn Accord is a loosely organized—but ideologically potent—faction of Mistkin who question the sacredness and permanence of the Veil. While many Mistkin treat the Veil as a protective miracle or living covenant born from necessity after The Fracturing, the Clearborn see it as a spiritual cage that has cut them off from growth, memory, and their place in the wider world.

Their name, Clearborn, references the idea of being born into clarity rather than fog. Some interpret this to mean truth, others defiance. Within Pluvia, they are often spoken of in hushed tones, sometimes with sympathy—more often with mistrust.

Beliefs & Controversies

At their core, the Clearborn believe:

• The Veil was never meant to be permanent, and its long-term use is harming Mistkin connection to the world and themselves.
• The Echoheart holds too much power, and the rituals tied to the Veil are increasingly exclusive and gatekept.
• Emotion is meant to move outward, not spiral inward endlessly under cloud and rain.
• Reconnecting with the outside world—even selectively—is essential for Mistkin survival.

Not all Clearborn agree on the means. Some advocate open discourse, spiritual evolution, and change from within. Others believe in active disruption, and sabotage the Veil in quiet, dangerous ways.

The Accord has no single leader, but many follow teachings collected in the Accord of Rainlight, a controversial and banned document rumored to have been shaped from a rejected Echo Offering.

Status Within Mistkin Society

The Clearborn are not outlawed by name, but any confirmed member is barred from training as an Echoweaver, participating in public rituals, or accessing communal resonance archives. Many go quiet after adolescence. Others vanish entirely—believed to have fled to outposts like Mirelight Refuge.

Still, even among Veil-loyal Mistkin, some whisper that the Clearborn are asking questions that deserve answers.
