Session 29: Lost in Newhaven

After some much needed rest, the group gathers up over breakfast to discuss what to do next to which they all decide to help their parasocially acquired adoptive daughter who has not seen any sign of her aunt in nearly a month.

  After some much needed rest, the group gathers up over breakfast to discuss what to do next to which they all decide to help their parasocially acquired adoptive daughter who has not seen any sign of her aunt in nearly a month . Before departure to sector 7, Zay takes the time to commune with the deepstalker egg while holding the amber staff leading to her obtaining the first Deepstalker relic along with its curse, meanwhile Lucas signed for the team in order to reopen the Warlock courses in the institute.     After some proper detective work they find that Miss Bowman was last seen before she left for her new home given to her by the government as part of a rehousing initiative after her last home burned in a fire. Following her trail until they arrive at Sector 4, a place covered in ash and used for the volcano that resides in it to harvest thermoelectricity, the team locates the housing area, a suburb-like place named Newhaven.     Using the cover of night and C’s criminal skills to their advantage, the group successfully stealths their way into Newhaven only to notice no one seems to be living there apart from a single home near the entrance. Splitting up in two teams, one composed of Lucas, C, Gal0d3 and Zay who opted to search the aunt’s home and the other just Aalik and Estell who opted to investigate the only house with lights on.     As they sneak near the house, Estell asks Aalik to keep watch while he looks through the windows where he locates Skryt grunts who are stuffing odd belongings into boxes and taking them upstairs. Suddenly Aalik and Estell notice their moonstone replicas begin to shine abruptly as if Mezdhu was near only for the light to banish in seconds. Snooping into the window on the second floor, Estell locates the potential source of the moonstone glow problem, a small device the skryt personnel seem to be using to disappear into thin air. Spotting a mean looking woman approaching the house, Aalik takes it as their queue to leave the area with Estell.     Meanwhile after once again utilizing C’s criminal skills, they break into the home of Miss Bowman where they are shocked to find the place empty with no sign of anyone taking residence. That is until further investigation where they find the imprints of furniture in the carpet and a foul smelling substance coming from the water, a substance wreaking of squid that Zay identifies as Deepstalker toxins. Fearing for the safety of the aunt, Zay uses the last scroll of scrying on her only for it to give no connection leading to only two possibilities:   That night while they slept, Aalik and Lucas suffer from strange dreams where a copy of themselves but with silver eyes begins to ask odd questions seemingly with the intention of getting to know the motives for the team better.
