Purpose

This document is used to promote Pelor in a easily-digestible, readily-available pamphlet.

Document Structure

References

Too many documents to name mention the Pelor Pamphlet. It is eponymous with every sort of religious movement from peaceful demonstrations to zealous uprisings. Many zealots indeed hold the pamphlet aloft as the religious text. Many books written about Pelor reference the Pelor Pamphlet in some way or another.

Publication Status

It is believe Zaladar distributed these documents with the help of Pelor himself. As legend says, she prayed fervently for months for his help in spreading his benevolent name across Uto Daeg. The legend says she gained a book of endless pages with the words printed on them. She merely had to rip the pages out and give them to everyone she met.

Historical Details

Background

The pamphlet came at a time when humanity was at its height. Many humans prospered in every biome in Uto Daeg. However, humanity needed one final unifying trait, and Pelor offered it.

History

Zaladar, according to legend, prayed to Pelor for months, only stopping to sleep. At the end of some time, he granted her a book of endless pages which had this pamphlet inscribed upon them. She worked endlessly on tearing them out page by page, for Pelor warned her if more than one page should be torn it would lose its magic. This divine tome, lost to the sea after a botched raid by oblivious pirates, went everywhere Zaladar went and never lost its ink even when submerged.

Public Reaction

In her home town, Zaladar's pamphlet was disparaged by the clergy, who thought translating the texts easy to read would dilute the message. Once she was abroad, though, the pamphlet received critical and clerical acclaim. People accepted it, humans especially as it bespoke to human morals of unity and oneness.

Legacy

The effects of this pamphlet cannot be understated. Pelor, who had just been worshiped in small sects of all races, now became a household name, especially to humans. It unified the humans and told other races that humans were capable and dedicated. It intrigued non-humans, who had not much thought of humans. With a deity vouching for them in whatever divine courts exist, the other gods began letting their worshipers know that humans are indeed valid and free from oppression, a real problem in certain countries in Sefir Daeg and the dragonborn in the Deadlands.
