A Gate Cube is a legendary device that allows for ease of transportation throughout The Multiverse. It permits castings of plane shift without additional material components (such as a tuning fork), which greatly assists in the process.   Gate Cubes are also capable of casting the gate spell, one of the most powerful spells known to mortals. Beyond the mere summoning of extraplanar creatures, the gate spell can also retrieve intact souls from anywhere within the Multiverse, even if the body is no longer intact. If the body is no longer intact, then the soul will reappear on the respective summoned plane in a manifestation most befitting its consciousness prior to its death. In most cases, the physical form will be identical to the one that came before. However, in rare instances (such as an "ontologically evil" creature becoming good through a great feat), the physical form will become representative of the plane it was conjured from.
