Psychological Profile

Tluffam is an exceptionally confident and argumentative officer, even by Tellarite standards. While she does, on occasion, demonstrate flashes of genuine nobility and loyalty to her crew and family, these are frequently overshadowed by her unpredictable behavior and a tendency to insert herself into situations best left to higher-ranking personnel. She prides herself on her ability to “read people” and often wagers (both literally and figuratively) on her instincts. To her credit, she has demonstrated some competency in her assignments although her methods can be erratic and her victories often feel more the result of chance than discipline.

Biographical Overview

Born on Tellar Prime, Tluffam demonstrated early aptitude for both engineering mechanics and the rhetorical sparring so common among her people. She entered Starfleet Academy in 2366 graduated with honors in only two years, completing the program in 2368. Her accelerated education placed her in the top ninth percentile of her class and showcased her unusual ability to adapt across multiple fields of study, moving from engineering to command without the typical loss of focus such a shift entails. While her brilliance was recognized through multiple awards, this was also accompanied by several disciplinary reports filed by her peers for being difficult to work with.   Her first assignment aboard the USS Hickam [NCC-44863], a Miranda-class vessel dedicated largely to logistics. Based upon command reports, Tluffam was ill-suited for routine supply routing and convoy escort work, and her behavior during this period resulted in sharp criticism from her peers and superiors alike. Reassigned in 2371 to Starbase 633, she remained there until 2375, where her unconventional problem-solving found more room to breathe. From 2375 to 2381 she served in Starfleet Research, where her skills in linguistics, counseling, and analytical reporting saw her involved in several sensitive cultural and psychological studies. Her expertise was called on to assist with first contact with the Groldrians of Groldria III, a challenging assignment as the six-armed Groldrians communicate only through gesture making initial translation difficult. Most recently, she has been posted to the USS Orpheus [NCC-74863], where she currently serves as second officer.
