The Nagouda, the Dove Assassins
The Nagouda (NUt GOO DOne) is a shadow organization, much less visible than any guild of thieves organizing the financing of crimes in cities. They are famous for high-level assassinations and strategic removals of "obstacles". They have destabilized city-states, ended military coups, brought down despots, and even slaughtered entire noble families. Their signature is a white dove feather on the victim. Some were gruesomely stuck in the eye or piercing the tongue or ear. It is believed the position of the feather infers something about the reason. Two Nagouda were killed during attempted assassinations, both were women. One was a human, the other a tabaxi. Some have spoken of them as a benevolent organization, freeing people from terrible and oppressive rulers. In two cases, resurrections of the murdered were attempted and both failed. It is believed they may also capture the soul of their victim to ensure the assassination is permanent.
