Kreenan Tribes
The Kreenan Tribes are a diverse culture of roaming militants.
The Kreenans roam and form temporary settlements. They do not see land as something to be owned. They find a beneficial relationship with Eldarr states. They provide men-at-arms and militia for barter and shelter. It has become a common practice to have an area at the edge of towns or cities where travelers could setup tents or stay in longhouses. The Kreenans encourage that as it attracts them and the settlements benefit from the military presence.to set up temporary tents or use existing structures as a base of operations. They can then count on the Kreenans to fight off bandits, beasts, and even local criminals.
They have a small pantheon of five gods native to their culture.
The Kreenan - the spirit of all Kreenans past, an ancestral well
Brutta the Hammer - brute force and craft
Wilden the Dagger and the Arrow - quick, decisive, strategy
Fodor the Beastmaster - the army and revelry
Mortrune the Sheild - Hearth, defense of innocent
They are worshipped as a whole. Clerics have a tattoo on each finger for each god. Non-Kreenans can worship these gods. They are good fits for adventuring types. The Kreenan is an excellent candidate for a Warlock pact. Wilden would be a match for both Rogue & Ranger. Fodor is good for Ranger, Druids, or fighters With no permanence within their culture, they structure towards that end. Funerals are pyres, not burials. Even eaten by animals or beasts is considered a fitting end. Death is not frightening and they lack superstition about it. Fodor is an excellent example. As the younger male of the pantheon, he represents the young armies, often fodder for the battle. This is not a negative thing. Mass must be countered by mass. There is tremendous glory in this as they seek to kill 10 to 1 on the battlefield and drive five to one in fear from the battle. In Fodor they understand that the mass can win battles in a war. Farmers turned warriors don't win battles. Such desperate troops must be driven in fear from the battle. The only result of a war fought with farmers is years of famine afterward. The land needs farmers after the fight is won. Kreenan tribes hunt and gather, barter for farmed and manufactured goods. They earn and use wealth to buy what their roaming lifestyle does not provide. Bones and tattoos are powerful symbols. Bones (including teeth) are collected from ritual milestone kills. They are incorporated into dress, piercings or weapon. These are very important and take on sacred and superstitious meaning to the future life of the Kreenan. Collect five spirit/milestone bones: First Game (Animal) First Hunt (Beast) First Kill (Humanoid) First Slay (Vengeance) First Fell (Monstrosity, Fiends, Aberrations)
