The Church of Akaris
Structure
The High Priest: The top of the order for the Church of Akaris. The High Priest resides in the Monastery of Akaris. They directly guide worshippers through sermons and ceremonies, and they also indirectly guide worshippers through appointing priests and holding diplomatic relations with nobles across the continent.
Advisors: Priestess Bernadetta is an advisor. The High Priest does not make decisions alone; the advisors are in place to make sure the High Priest has extra input when handling diplomatic relations with the nobles.
Priests/Priestesses: The various minor religious leaders that reside in the central monastery and across the continent in individual churches. They directly guide worshippers through sermons and ceremonies.
Culture
The core beliefs of the Church of Akaris follow as such: one must do good to the best of their abilities and one must be truthful to those around them even if that truth is hard to hear. Devout followers tend to be straightforward and blunt, but are very reliable and helpful people.
Mythology & Lore
Thousands of years ago, two lover gods known as "Contrast" created the god Xodur as the embodiment of pure good and the god Isyn as the embodiment of pure evil. To balance out their entities of good and evil, Contrast created the god Ezmos as their arbiter. Then came Koros as the embodiment of love, Akaris and Uddite as the two sides of war, Ruvas and Siros as the gods of pleasure and leisure, and Siien as the god of secrecy and poetic justice. After Siien was created, Contrast disappeared and left Ezmos as the overgod.
Truth to self. Truth to others. Truth to the Goddess.
