Bluttanz

This blade has a history as old as the lineage of the von Krolocks. Bluttanz was forged after Strahd von Krolock seized the land upon which Castle Krolock would be built and declared himself lord of the region. Strahd named it Bluttanz (roughly translated into Blood Dance) after the way he was known to "Waltz" through the battlefield. He passed the sword down to his firstborn, Carmilla.   It was later wielded by Striga von Krolock during the Spring War where the region south of the castle was conquered allegedly because her wife desired a summer house. Passed along the heirs of the von Krolock family it served Jericho von Krolock well during the take over of the port of Basilich and was wielded only once by Albrecht von Krolock on the night of the Mitternacht ball.   After the von Krolock's were turned Jericho swore an oath on the blade, "be that it in my hands or another's, this blade will taste the blood of the one who did this." The malice with which this was spoken extended the curse from the Krolock's to their family blade, and much like how they feed on blood so does it. In this new form, Jericho wielded the blade during the first and second Wild Hunts where it was said to have feasted on the blood of Queen Mab's children and ripped through hordes of breybeasts. Its most recent wielder was Herbert von Krolock, and he dueled a member of House Laurent over the besmirching of his husband's name.
