Laughing Bard

To you people take life a bit too seriously. What's wrong with a little laughter in the face of mortal danger? After all, the world is just a playground that is begging for you to play in it. People may criticize you for your silly jokes and playfulness, but you know something that they don't. We are all mad in this wonderland. They may think you are crazy but your reality is just more fun than theirs. You have learnt to leave all the serious stuff to the other people, cause you never get involved in politics. It is always more fun to include others in your madness.

What If...

3rd level Laughing Bard feature   When a creature within 60 feet of you casts a spell that deals damage then you can use your reaction and a bardic inspiration die to change it's damage type. If the spell belonged to an enemy then roll the dice and reduce the first instance of damage it would deal by the result of the roll, if the caster was a friendly creature then add the result instead. The new damage type remains for the remainder of the spells duration.
