31. Spikes

There are two large spiked pits in this room that are 40 feet deep. There is a narrow 5 foot wall of stone between them that would allow someone to walk to the door to the south if they were careful. There are two wooden disks that are floating in the room, one over the center of each pit. Spikes jut from the walls. There is also a door to the west.

This room is an obstacle course. Athletics and acrobatics checks are reasonable options. But there are numerous possibilities depending on the gear that the party has with them. This room isn't intended to be a significant challenge, but is here to round out skill set the players will be using. Once they touch a door it crumbles to sand.

• Award 500xp for safely traversing this room.

Safely traversing this room for the first time only will award one point with the Eladrin. Keep track of the party's score as they go along. At the completion of each challenge, their score will be announced by the ringing of a bell for each point they have earned.
