WorldEmber 2025 Prep
WorldEmber Homework: 2 Bingos Complete!
Pledge!
I, moonflower-writing, pledge to write 5,000 words this WorldEmber, spread over the worlds of Ezre and Vetoa. The current plan is to write at least 2,500 words worth of articles in each world, but any ratio is accepted for this WorldEmber event, so long as I reach 5,000 total words written.
Accountability Buddies!
Mood Boards!
I created moodboards for both Ezre and Vetoa. Explanations for each picture involved in the moodboards will be placed below the moodboards themselves.

Feedback!
For my feedback, I asked my good friend Barbarossa Sparklebeard to help me review the Nouveau Internationale — a political party with terrorist leanings within the world — and general historical timeline of Vetoa, which is in itself an alternate history world. They have given me a great deal of insight in how to present the conflict surrounding the Nouveau Internationale, and helped me develop the historical timeline further.
Visual Elements!
For both Ezre and Vetoa, I made a "Picture to be Added" image to act as a placeholder image for each world. Ezre's placeholder image was created with this image by the user VictorianLady on Pixabay. Vetoa's placeholder image was created with this image by the user michellegrewe on Pixabay.

Worldbuilding Playlists!
I only really have worldbuilding playlists for Ezre at the moment. The playlists I have assembled for Ezre include lists for the world as a whole, lists for characters within the world, and lists for central concepts such as the Dium. Playlist titles include (no links):
Lists of Articles to Write!
I have Google Sheets lists of articles to potentially write for both worlds, which I have found easier for me to curate than in-WA to-do lists if the articles are only potential ideas rather than for-sure concepts. I plan on transferring ideas to the to-do lists provided by World Anvil as I work, although we'll see if that proves to be helpful to my work process this WorldEmber.
Join the Community!
I am on the Discord! I'm not very active on the Discord, but I am on it, and I frequently read through the #development-discussion channel and the Inner Sanctum channel, and I'm always reading the #announcements and #dev-changelog, although most other channels are muted and I rarely read through them. I promise I don't bite if you do see me around, however. I just oftentimes don't have the time nor the energy to read through such a large and fast-paced server.
Tidy Up Your Writing Space!
I have been working on cleaning my desk and going through loose papers all week (well, from 24 November to the time of writing this on 28 November). I have "executed" a very large handful of sticky notes and index cards to the point I've had to clean my "executioner's block" twice! A picture of said "sticky note executioner's block" can be seen below. It's really just a spike on a base that I 3D printed and use to dispose of sticky notes and index cards.
(I don't know how to make these images smaller right now)
Define Your Scope!
My scope for WorldEmber this year in Vetoa will be limited to the nations of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, Occitania, Brittany, Catalonia, Spain, and Italy — the nations the Nouveau Internationale has a notable presence in — with a limited amount of focus being directed elsewhere throughout the month. Nouvelle-Aquitaine, being the nation the story itself is set in, will be the primary focus of my WorldEmber. Remember that Vetoa is an alternate history world, and the nations we know today have changed.
Review Your World Primer!
I reviewed my world primers in that they are both on the to-do list to make for WorldEmber, actually. I have a plan in place for Ezre's world primer, but with Vetoa's the plan is far more hazy in nature. I do hope to get both into a semi-presentable state over the course of WorldEmber though. Fingers crossed.
At least the bingo didn't say the world primers had to be done. Or even written. So, I'm tweaking the homework to suit me a little better and using this space to review my plans for the world primers.
Free Space!
I decided to use the free space for the Bingo Prompt "Set Up a Reward for Making Your Goal". I plan to allow myself a single $20 USD or less purchase on DriveThruRPG if I make my WorldEmber goal this year.
Plan Your Writing Schedule!
My writing schedule this December will be writing at least 100 words on any worldbuilding project every Tuesday through Thursday each week. Mondays, Fridays, and weekends will be reserved for other tasks.
Review Your Worlds' Appearances
Ezre
While I am not completely happy with the appearance of Ezre as of right now, I do not have the time to modify the CSS of the world before WorldEmber starts, so I have decided to keep its theme. Eventually, Ezre will have a theme befitting its genre as a dark, Belle Époque fantasy.
Vetoa
I have decided to switch Vetoa's theme from "Opulent" to "Notebook" for WorldEmber. In the future, I plan to use the "Notebook" theme as a base for Vetoa's final theme.
