Lilika was left as a baby on the doorstep of a family of four. Soon after her arrival, the family fell into a violent madness and killed each other. Orphaned and alone, Lilika struggled with her supernatural powers tied to shadow manipulation. At six, she was adopted by Carmen, a loving Spanish woman. Unfortunately, the darkness within Lilika corrupted Carmen, leading her to poison and attempt to smother her. Overwhelmed with guilt, Carmen took her own life. This tragic event left Lilika scarred, making her withdraw from others out of fear that her powers could harm those she cares about.
