Agonite
This ore is not found in the earth or in mines, it is found only in the heart of a dammed soul. In the Thermon Arctica Realm, there is a portion of land called Whave Hell or the Hypermond Arctica, this is where all the souls who actively and intentionally served a net-negative for their species are. In the Whave Hell, they are not tortured for eternity, but until the soul has forgotten everything about itself. Name, age, personality, all will be forgotten before the soul is recycled by supernatural entities, (specifically the cold chambers for the souls that are sensitive to the cold), the pressure of the magnetic fields surrounding the soul condenses and fossilizes the eatherplasm into a crystalline shape or agonite.
Agointes elemental makeup is composed of eatherplasmeic photons that have been slowed to a halt. The chemical reaction that turned eatherplasm into agonite is when extreme cold and intense compression of the magnetic field surrounding and controlling the eatherplams shape. The compressed field forces the photons to move slower and slower until the photons solidify and form molecular bonds with each other and the magnetic field is no longer necessary to keep a consistent shape.
The odd thing about Aragonite is that it is the densest and strongest material in the universe, to the point where not even gods can break it. The only reason it isn't used as armor is that it has the melting point of a chocolate bar, making it effectively useless outside of hyper cold places like the realms of either Hypermond or Thermond. This however only applies to the physical uses. Outside of applying agonite directly to a surface to make it stronger, it is also used as a condensed form of eatherplasm that can be melted into Power and used to fuel magical vehicles and weapons. Agonite is most commonly shipped and sold directly from the governmental body of the Hypermond Arctica, Ferci, given that the only consistent way to harvest agonite is from Whave Hell's cold chamber and selling agonite outside of the direct supervision of the Hypermond Eatherplasm and Agonite Research institution (H.E.A.R. institute) is highly illegal.
Properties
Material Characteristics
This material is often found in the hearts of Jyinns in the shape of their heart and where their heart should be. It has a syrupy viscosity to it and often solidifies into a flat disk, like a frozen puddle. The solid and liquid agonite is like glass with spots of red about it like an opal. The red spots aren't actually there, they are just air bubbles that the crystal changes to look red.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Agonite has two properties. One: agonite is fossilized eatherplasmeic photons and the heating of agonite is the only way to convert it back into Power. And two: despite the fact that agonite is extremely strong, it only has the melting point of chocolate, making fire weapons extremely useful against it. Agointe is solid and cold to the touch however when melted, it can become as hot as boiling water.
Compounds
The Agonite is only useful as efficient storage of Power or coating something with it, other than that it can't be mixed with anything to improve it or get any noticeable effect.
Geology & Geography
This material is makable in the hearts of Jyinns and the torture rooms of Whave Hell, more specifically, the freezing torture chambers in the Hypermond Arctica, where souls are subjected to cold climates as their torment.
Origin & Source
The intense cold of the surrounding air will start to slow the eatherplasmeic photons more and more until they start to be able to stand still without the need for a wielder to manipulate a magnetic field. Outside of that, Jyinns without a soul have what little Power they gain from heating transferred directly into their cursed heart, where the cold of the dead corps that is a Jyinn fossilized it into agonite.
Life & Expiration
Unlike eatherplasm, agonite doesn't give off eatherplasmeic ions and thus doesn't decay or glow. The only way to make it decay is to melt it back into eatherplasm.
History & Usage
History
Agonite was discovered in -1911 BC and sense then was continuously used as a construction material in bunkers and important buildings like the capital building back in Thermond Arctica. It was only used as an efficient way to store eatherplasm for long-term storage until -1841 BC. However, War of Light has been used to up the price if not boycott the sale of agonite for countries and governmental powers that aren't allied with Thermond Arctica.
Discovery
Agonite was first discovered by Khanum Yicalth, while he was performing a daily check on one of the Hell chambers and noticed agonite seeping through one of the cracks. Agonite leaking from the chambers is now a sign that the chambers have failed and need to be fixed. When Khanum Yicalth scraped the agonite from the walls of the camber, he forge a suit of armor from it and claimed that while he was in it he was indestructible. Due to the agonites low melting point, the armor was melted from his body heat and failed to save him from the bullet that was shot at him. After the agonite was discovered, It is now and always has been harvested by hand, in order to make the harvesting more secure.
Everyday use
Agonite is rarely used in common daily life, if a Faunum possesses agonite it is most commonly the heart of a Jyinn on display as a show of strength or decoration.
Cultural Significance and Usage
Agonite is used to fuel dancing puppets and machines to perform a ritualistic dance. As well, oracles often burn agonite as an emergency fuel source for telling the future when firewood and inserts are not available in combat.
Industrial Use
Again, agonite is used as compressed Power in order to run advanced machinery and enchanted industrial equipment. The city of Jupiter uses eatherplasm sourced from agonite to enchant products produced in mass on conveyor belts. Examples of which are pens, or enchanted items used to enhance a Faunum's ability to do magic. Agonite is now mandatory in most factories because using the Power of employees to mass-produce enchanted goods is illegal under the Organization for Control of Eathermplasm and Magic (OCEM) and is the equivalent of an OSHA violation.
Refinement
Once agonite is harvested, it can be frozen, stored, and sold. In order to convert the agonite back into eatherplasm, they need to heat the agonite to 300 degrees celsius, where the eatherplasm photons will disperse and start behaving like regular Power, where a powerful magnet is necessary to control the eatherplasm.
Manufacturing & Products
The realms of Hypermond and Termond are the only places where agonite is useful as a weapon or building material. Agonite can't be enchanted itself, and the only use for it magic-wise is surrounding the hearts of Jyinns, where it slowly accumulated around the amulet that is replaced by their heart.
Byproducts & Sideproducts
When heated to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, the agonite returns to its eatherplasm state. The eatherplasm is used as a regular eatherplasm and is directly infused into a patient to heal someone or to revitalize them.
Hazards
There are no repercussions for the harvesting of agonite, however, harvesting agonite requires the opening of the chamber and thus can lead to souls escaping into the outside world.
Distribution
Trade & Market
The selling of this item is sold only by the government of Valcanave, and the only way to obtain it legally is to purchase it from the government. Of course, the hearts of jyinns contain agonite and are rarely sold at local markets.
Storage
This item is most commonly stored close to or surrounded by dry ice and is further surrounded by a metal case.
Law & Regulation
The selling of agonite outside of government regulation and direct H.E.A.R. institution law and oversite is illegal. This material is extremely strong and is rarely ever sold cheaply to anyone who isn't another governmental body or an ally. Outside of those criteria, the price of agonite can be anywhere from 1,000-50,000 Maul (500$-2,500$) a gram.
