Grung

The Grung are a strange group of froglike humanoids that appeared in the Mire during the late Divine age, similar to other Mire folk it is unclear where these creatures came from, though they do seem to have a stronger affinity for the Mire itself.
 

Mire amphibious

Grung lay eggs in communal ponds created in tree hollows with mire water. This seems to give the Grung a coating in a poisonous membrane that they keep for the rest of their life, making them highly toxic to those who come into contact with them. This membrane also seems to protect them from the worst of the Mire effects, allowing them to move around without becoming corrupted, however this has also lead to Grung not living long outside the Mire.
 

Culture

Grung share the Mire folk culture with other such creatures however they differ in a few ways
Grung form smaller tribes in groves of trees with a central hollow they can use for a nursery. each tribe numbers upto fifty adult Grung, with trade between the factions as well as swapping of members. When a tribe gets too big it'll either split in half or several members will join a small tribe to bolster their numbers. Each tribe is led by the oldest Grung who uses their years to help guild the tribe forward.
 

Similar Species

Several groups have appeared in swampy areas around undinia and further east, the origins of these groups being as mysterious as the Grung themselves. The Eastern Mangroves being the only area a similar group has taken a proper foothold, due to the exploration of the area it is unclear which group existed first or even if they're related.
