Faith and divinty in Undina

With such a mix of beings from various planes, Undinia has become a melting pot of Gods and Goddesses, with many modern deity's being an amalgamation of various older ones. While several ways of classifying these have taken place over the years, discoveries through the second and third century Fey has lead to the 'more accurate' used.   The gods of Undinia are, as a whole, mostly silent with it being more faith of their existence then anything else.

Pantheons and patrons

While the list of gods is long, these are divided further into cultural, sub-cultural pantheons, city patrons, and personal god. While a the majority of the time you can follow a God up from personal to cultural, this is not always the case.
  • Cultural pantheon - these are the gods, goddess and spirits of a culture. while the culture might, and probably does recognise others, it's pantheon are the ones prayed within the culture.
  • Sub-culture pantheon - While the pantheon of a sub-culture might mostly be the same as the cultural pantheon, there may be either exclusions or additions depending on that sub-cultures past, Akoom being present in Northern Rivell but no other Rivellian culture is an example.
  • City Patron - This refers to the main god of a City, for instance Draco of Drake Vil.
  • Personal God- Also known as the personal or family patron, it is the main god of an individual, this is also the category most likely to break from the cultural norm.
These beings seem to rarely get involved with the world itself, and even their priests state it's more a matter of faith that they're there. While this is the Norm for those classified as Gods and Goddesses, a lot of the spirits, fey, fiends, and other such powerful creatures are found to influence things on occasion.

Categories of divine being

Primal Spirits

The natural spirits of Undinia. While they are primarily held in reverence by the Shifter clans, a few other people also hold them in high regard. These are considered the most active of all the Devine beings, though only in the wilder places of the world. The Dread tiger and Hynadon are examples of these spirits.

The Primordial Gods

These are the gods of the first era, and moved around during that time. While a few still effect the world today, they as a whole try to stay out of it. The wanderer and Shade are the most worshiped in the era of ages, with Zumil and The Scourge being the most active.

Spirits

These are powerful spirits that inhabit the world. While they have been known to influence things, they mostly don't. The Eather lights are an example of this.

Draconic Pantheon

The pantheon to the various Draconic peoples of the world. These have since found to all be part of the first generation of Dragons, that have since been worshiped due to their size and power. Draco and Sardia are the biggest examples. The ancient Primal Beast, Lagrigoyi's bane, is thought to be one of these but it is unclear which. These are known as divine dragons

Ascended Beings

These are once mortal beings that have had worship and cults appear after their death. Gods of Elysia are an example of this.
  • Note:powerful beings
These beings often grant powers to soul sworn and as such treated as gods, More often then not these are just powerful beings. Lichs and Archfey are a good examples of this.

Foreign Gods

The gods and beings brought in from another plane of exitance. While it is unclear of their status on their home plane, they are silent here, though don't tell an Akoomite that. Akoom and Cheshire are examples of this.

God

The biggest category. It is believed they reside in as of yet undiscovered divine plane attached to Undinia. Nara and Magkos are good examples of these.
