Blue Horn of Salvaged Courage

This bluish spiraled horn from an unknown animal has been in Tars’s clan for years, passed down from generation to generation. Legend has it that it once held great magic for whatever orc could blow the horn. No orc in memory has been able to blow the horn to produce any effect.   When Rafe had fled, he had taken the horn, possibly out of spite or possibly out of feeling he was owed something from the tribe. When Rafe had finally reunited with Tars, he had handed it over, apologizing for taking it from the clan. Tars made good and tried to return it to only have the elders of the clan refuse it, saying that Rafe had corrupted it. They didn’t seem to care as it wasn’t of any use to them anyway.   Disagreeing with this, Tars kept the strange horn. Several times over the past few months, Tars attempted to sound it with nothing special happening. It made an annoying high flutey sound. However, this last time Tars attempted to use it, something special happened. It made a loud call like a battle horn should.   When the horn is sounded by a barbarian of sufficient level, it has the potential to cause any ally within 30’ to enter into a rage as a 1st level barbarian. The ally must first be frightened or panicked. When the horn is blasted, which is a swift action, the ally gets a new save at +6 to whatever scared them. If successful, a deep anger rises in the ally which counteracts the fear and results in a rage lasting 2 rounds plus their constitution score. The rage cannot be ended early. During that time, the ally gains all the benefits and hindrances of the rage and will attempt to attack any opponent nearby as able.   A barbarian under the effects of the horn will no longer be frightened and due to their experience controlling rage, have the choice of whether or not to enter the rage induced by the horn. Blowing the horn is an allowable action if the barbarian is frightened or panicked, possibly freeing them from the effects.
