Tes
The Tes are a humanoid marsupial species from the planet Tethis. They are considered some what backwards by the other species, and are fierce guardians of their planets independence.
Tes social and technological development was stalled for a long time due to sudden shifts in their star systems make up. This development was aided by mysterious beings called the Venre. The Venre exist on a higher plane where they live as immortal beings. The Tes viewed the Venre as gods, and with their guidance the Tes were able to flourish.Certain Tes were able to allow the Venre to inhabit their bodies, creating a synthesized personality from their Tes and Venre consciousness. These Tes-Ven are revered by the Tes, and are take up positions of leadership in the government and scientific fields.

History
The Tes evolved from marsupial like species on Tethis. During their early period of their sentience after they evolved to have a brain size comparable to that of Humans their planet suffered a cataclysmic realignment the planets axis due to the destruction of its moon. This caused what little advancement had been made to be undone.
Venre Influence
It was during this cataclysm that the Venre. The Venre were able to communicate with the Tes through visions and whispering. They were able to guide the Tes to safety and allow them to thrive on their planet. In return for this help the Tes viewed the Venre as gods, and built religious institutions around worship of them.
Tes-Ven Eventually The Venre discovered how to merge with a willing Tes to become a Tes-Ven. The merging of the consciousness of the extra dimensional Venre and the Tes created a whole new personality that had the traits of both. It also allowed for the Venre aspect to better influence the physical world with their extra dimensional powers. The Tes-Ven are revered by the Tes as demigods, and given places of power in society. It was discovered that when a Tes-Ven dies the Venre consciousness returns to its home retaining the memories of that life. These memories are carried over if that Venre chooses a new Tes to inhabit. Not all Tes are allowed to become a Tes-Ven. They have to go through a series of trial to prove what they will contribute to the Venre and how they will use the new skills that are being passed on by their passed lives.
