Uked Society
Magic is an ancient power. The potential is great and the responsibility is greater. The benefits of magic should certainly be available to the people, but their exposure must be controlled. The Uked Society was founded many years ago. It is a coalition of wizards, sorcerers, and druids who work to regulate the use of magic. No child should grow up with deformities. No one need die of curable diseases. But the masses cannot be trusted to use this power, dangerous as it is.
The Uked Society runs many clinics and helps many people overcome the limitations of mortal existence. But no business can survive charging nothing, and so the poorest often fly beneath their radar. They often advocate extreme caution with magic, and their research revolves around using it in ways that will not harm the natural order of things.
Of late, the Uked Society has been struggling with the self contradictions of spreading the use of magic and carefully restricting magic, as well as for not releasing their research to the public.
